In Uganda is a town called Lira, known years ago for being the jewel of the Northern part of Uganda. It was known for its Savannah like tree-lined streets and for being a friendly bicycle town. Lira was destroyed by Joseph Kony and the Lord’s resistance army for almost 20 years, abducting children to be child soldiers, burning villages and robbing the area of all its cattle destroying their livelihood. Lira became overcrowded with refugees returning for safety, but many still are without medical care, food and water. Many orphaned children, refugees and displaced children and their families have been thrown back into their original homeland with nothing. Many children have been dying as a result. We have saved over 400 children from dying. Not one of them would be here today if the sponsors of Orphan Gospel had not stepped forward to help. We also help children at Nissi Christian school. We feed 165 children daily two meals due to the drought that has been unrelenting. This way the children can focus in school and the burden is taken off the parents, aunts and grandmothers who cannot feed their own children due to lack of food with the drought.
We build water boreholes in Uganda, and we recently upgraded the Malnutrition Unit in Kampala for their childrens wards. Everything was redone and medical machines were added as well. We have done many Agricultural projects to help families provide sustainable income. We have provided bibles to children at Nissi Christian school and bibles to adults completing their discipleship program. We have a special heart for Uganda and see God doing amazing transformations in the people of Uganda. God is good.
